3. Water clearing services:
Dirty, sediment filled water irritates fish, causing them to feed less. It also reduces the proper vegetation process, which means there is less for your fish to eat.
4. Liming to correct pH problems:
Proper pH allows for proper fertility, which causes healthy growth, which feeds the bugs, that feed your fish!
Good fertility will help to balance your lakes vegetation, which provides food for the bugs, that provide food for the fish, that provide food for your fish fry!
6. Vegetative nutrient barriers:
Sometimes there are more nutrients flowing into your lake than you need. For those situations, the carefully planned planting of vegetation which will absorb that excess fertility will go a long way in keeping it out of your lake.
7. Biodiversity Management:
The single most significant threat to our regional ecology is the threat posed by invasive species!
That may sound alarmist, but it is not. If it is alarming, that is good. It should be. The line between what is tolerable, and disaster is very thin on this front. The time between discovery and total infestation is sometimes only weeks, or even days. This is a good enough reason to sound the alarm!
The biggest threat in East Texas is to the biodiversity, and usability of our lakes. Invasive plants taking over lakes can cause severe problems for water use and recreation, and in the most severe cases, some exotic plants can destroy all native species!
Keep a sharp eye out for these predators. If you have problems on your private pond or lake, we will be glad to help.
8. Consulting.
We hesitate to mention this, but it is a service we are called upon to provide more often these days. We will be happy to assess your lake or pond situation, and offer plans and guidelines for bringing it up to your expectations and keeping it there. We will check your pH, check the "secchi" depth, and provide other more detailed testing if you like. Our services are flexible, and expandable.
